The Gardens in Winter

It isn’t unusual for the deep reds and orange tones of autumn to give way to short days, grey skies and dormant vegetation.  That’s why this winter has been different - so far ,there have been technicolour lights and hues.  My friend & one of London’s finest photographers, Umbreen Hafeez, and I headed out on the Kew Christmas Trail on what had started out as a mild November evening, but ended up grappling with our heavy equipment in the pouring rain.  But I’ve found that occasionally the best laid plans don’t yield the best photos and inclement conditions can sometimes provide some interesting effects.
