A few weeks ago, I
had the great privilege of photographing a Best of Richmond networking event at
Olympic Studios on Church Road in Barnes.
What a treat of a gig! Olympic
Studios has a long and fascinating history in the recording world and,
thankfully, was rescued a few years ago from luxury property developers and
turned into a cinema, café, studios and member’s lounge. The décor and feel are definitely vintage,
but with contemporary fare stylish international films and live broadcasts of
plays and operas. Olympic Studios is a
brilliant example of visionary people resuscitating an historical patch of the
high street in a thoroughly modern and stylish way.
